Giving Ducks a Second Chance: Flyway Brew Co. Supports Madison Grimm and Second Chance Flight

At Flyway Brew Co., conservation isn't something we simply want to talk about. We want to support people who are actually doing the work.
That's why we're proud to support Madison Grimm and Second Chance Flight, an organization dedicated to giving wild birds a second chance at life.
A PROBLEM HIDDEN IN THE PRAIRIE
Across the Prairie Pothole Region, wetlands, grasslands and agricultural fields provide important nesting habitat for waterfowl.
But every spring and summer, farming operations can unintentionally destroy nests hidden in fields. Sometimes viable eggs can remain behind with virtually no chance of surviving on their own.
Madison Grimm decided those eggs deserved a second chance.
FROM RESCUED EGGS TO WILD DUCKS
Working with farmers, landowners and others in her community, Madison and Second Chance Flight recover viable eggs from nests that have been unintentionally destroyed during agricultural operations.
The eggs are carefully incubated. After hatching, the young birds are cared for until they are ready to return to the wild.
Then comes the moment that makes all of that work worthwhile: release day.
The birds are returned to the outdoors where they have the opportunity to live the wild lives that nearly disappeared before they began.
It is conservation at its most tangible.
Find a life that would otherwise be lost. Give it a chance. Then return it to the wild.
CONSERVATION REQUIRES PEOPLE WILLING TO ACT
It's easy to talk about conservation in broad terms: habitat, water quality, wildlife populations and wetlands.
Those things matter enormously. But conservation ultimately happens because individual people decide to do something.
A farmer makes a phone call after discovering a damaged nest. Someone retrieves the eggs. Someone maintains the incubators. Someone feeds and cares for the growing birds. Volunteers give their time. Supporters help provide the resources needed to keep the work going.
Eventually, another bird has the opportunity to fly over a prairie wetland because people decided its life was worth saving.
That philosophy means a great deal to us at Flyway Brew Co.
WHY FLYWAY BREW CO. IS SUPPORTING SECOND CHANCE FLIGHT
Flyway Brew Co. was created around two things we care deeply about: great coffee and conservation.
Our connection to wetlands and waterfowl isn't simply part of our artwork or branding. We want the growth of Flyway Brew Co. to help support people and organizations making a real difference for the resources and wildlife we all enjoy.
Second Chance Flight represents exactly the kind of hands-on conservation effort we want to help.
That's why Flyway Brew Co. will be donating money to support Madison Grimm and Second Chance Flight.
When our customers support Flyway Brew Co., our goal is for that support to travel farther than a bag of freshly roasted coffee.
We want part of the success of this company to find its way back to wetlands, wildlife and the people working to protect them.
COFFEE WITH A GREATER PURPOSE
A cup of coffee might seem like a small thing.
So might a single rescued egg.
But meaningful conservation has always been built from individual actions repeated over time.
One rescued nest can mean more surviving birds. One participating landowner can encourage another. One supporter can tell a friend. One contribution can help provide resources that allow conservation work to continue.
And one cup of coffee can become part of something considerably larger.
That's the kind of company we want Flyway Brew Co. to be.
LEARN MORE ABOUT SECOND CHANCE FLIGHT
We encourage our customers, fellow hunters, conservationists and anyone who cares about waterfowl and wildlife to learn more about Madison Grimm and the work being done by Second Chance Flight.
Supporting conservation doesn't always require a massive project.
Sometimes it starts with seeing a problem, refusing to walk past it and deciding to give something a second chance.
At Flyway Brew Co., we're proud to support people willing to do exactly that.
Great coffee. Greater purpose.
Fresh coffee today. Conserving tomorrow.
